SNOHOMISH BACKROADS - GUIDED

Looking for a half-day ride that’s low-key, scenic, and just plain enjoyable?
This guided route is one of our favorites.
It winds the back-roads through forests, past quiet lakes, through rolling farmland, stretches of easy two-lane roads that have plenty of curves, along rivers, across valleys, then a little bit of city-scape—all rolled into a super laid back half day ride.
We’ve taken this ride to work when we wanted to skip the traffic, or home at the end of the day when we needed to unwind. It’s the kind of route where you can sit back, cue up some music, and just rumble along while thanking the Good Lord for the blessing of seeing the world from the seat of your Harley.

It’s not a fast run—hidden driveways, tight turns and plenty of wildlife keep you alert—but it’s peaceful and full of character. You’ll pass through small towns and communities with names like Granite Falls, Roesinger, Sultan, High Rock, Snohomish and Tulalip . Roadside oddities will tempt you to pull over, and there is plenty of scenery to go along with the easy pace.

The route begins at Sound Harley-Davidson, and from there we will zig-zag a bit then take the Burn Road toward Granite Falls, then south toward Lake Roesigner winding through forest and lake country toward the Old Pipeline Rd.   After all the trees, narrow roadways and shade, you are starting to think the RC is lost, but then some strategic twisties drop you into Sultan for a comfort stop.  From there it is over the river across the old wooden bridge, and hang a right at the scarecrow.  Follow the Skykomish River on it's south bank with amazing views all along the way.  One tricky left turn will take us to the turn for the Tualco Valley and up over the High Bridge to Elliot Road.  Lots of tight turns here now and into Snohomish where the Snohomish River flows toward Puget Sound.

Meander some more through the agricultural areas where the air is certain to be pungent for your enjoyment.  Once across the valley we will roll right through the heart of downtown Everett and turn to the north at Port Gardner Bay (Puget Sound) where Naval Station Everett is located.  Follow the water north, cross over the Snohomish River (again) where it empties into the sea and we are back with Marysville in sight...but don't be fooled we're not done yet!
Following Marine Drive we will traverse the Tulalip Indian Reservation all the way west and north to Kayak Point.  From there we start the final leg of this scenic tour.
Following county back roads, skirting Lakes Goodwin and Ki and onto the 45 Road, crossing over Interstate 5 and back to Sound Harley.

A ride that’s part escape, part discovery, and one you wont find in a tourist guide—perfect for when you want to trade speed for serenity.
