World Center for Birds of Prey
Self-Guided ONLY
Come ride with us on this short but very educational ride. You’ll see various birds of prey from the great California Condor to a small three inch tall Owl. We will take an unguided tour of the facility with possible displays and expert interpretations by the staff.
The center is the headquarters for The Peregrine Fund, an international non-profit organization founded in 1970 that conserves endangered raptors around the world.

Explore and discover the amazing world of raptors eye-to-eye. Stroll around the courtyard with native and non-native birds, then continue your experience inside with live raptor presentations and exhibits plus tours of the Archives of Falconry. Check them out on Facebook!

We’ll also visit the Swan Falls Dam area of the National Conservation Area (NCA) for Raptors.

The Snake River Birds of Prey NCA was established by Congress in 1993 to protect a unique desert environment that supports North America’s highest density of nesting raptors. More than 700 pairs of raptors nest each spring along 81 miles of the Snake River Canyon, including 150-200 pairs of Prairie Falcons...highest breeding density in the world. Other nesters include American Kestrel, Golden Eagle, Northern Harrier, Osprey, Peregrine Falcon, Red-tailed and Ferruginous Hawks. Owls include Barred, Burrowing, Great Horned, Long-eared, Northern Saw-Whet, Short-Eared, and Western Screech Owls. Bring your binoculars and cameras!
