DARRINGTON SSH LOOP - Guided
The Darrington Loop and South Skagit Highway is a local legend, and a low-key way to explore the diversity of our area. From Skagit farmlands to the North Cascades, it’s loved for its sweeping curves, scenic river valleys, low-traffic roads, and the glacial turquoise water of the South Skagit keeping pace.
This reversed loop leaves Sound Harley and heads north through Lake McMurray, Big Lake, and Clear Lake to Highway 9, then follows Old Day Creek Road and the South Skagit Highway toward Concrete and Rockport. From there, the ride continues through Darrington, the Oso Slide Memorial, and Arlington before returning to Sound. Along the way you’ll find comfort stops, lunch options, ice cream, the Skagit River, and the majestic Cascades. A favorite ride any time of year.
